Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, applicants must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by EAR and ITAR, including U.S. Citizens and U.S. Permanent Residents. Responsibilities for this Position A Senior Electrical Design Engineer is being sought to design and develop products for the latest high-tech secure surveillance systems. We’re looking for an all-round design engineer that has a proven track record in product design, that can work in a small team of RockStar engineers. Janteq designs and builds High Definition audio/video digital microwave transmitter and receiver systems for Government Federal Security applications, along with the Broadcast industry. Janteq operates as a commercial entity, backed up with the strength and benefits that General Dynamics Mission Systems has to offer. Experience in many of the following areas is required: Board level design around FPGAs, SOC FPGAs and memory systems Analog and power supplies, battery charging and low-power design High speed circuit design around buses such as PCIe, USB and Ethernet Designing, building, testing/debugging, and producing high quality embedded products Altium CAD, ideally including layout of high-layer-count high-technology boards Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and strong decision-making, organizational skills with initiative. Able to produce quality work with minimal checking or oversight. Use of source control and PLM systems would be an advantage Familiarity with any wireless broadcast, RF transmitter and receiver design, WiFi, MESH radio or DVB/COFDM would be useful Familiarity with Digital Video and Audio, including compression, MPEG, H.264 and ASI Embedded processors running Linux. Linux software driver ability would be great. Strong hands-on skills including prototyping/soldering and the use of a full range of instrumentation including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers The candidate must be an excellent communicator, be able to multitask, and work well on collaborative designs as a key member in a small team Salary Note This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. Combined Salary Range USD $132,500.00 - USD $146,900.00 /Yr.
